Teahwhit Headacross Strawberry Bay from Third Beachin the Olympic National Park, Washington state ©2010 Ed Book ‘took a daytrip to the coast yesterday… was a sleepy day with lucky unrainy portions. Most of our time was spent driving to and from but we had a couple reprises on the trail and beach. For me, fairly [...]

On the 15th of this month, I will have Nine years of posting in my LiveJournal. In the spirit of celebrating the anniversary of my birth for a week vice day–which I started doing a few years ago when I missed my actual birth"day"–I’ll celebrate this LiveJournal anniversary for a week… whatever that entails… maybe [...]

Returned last night from a good workshop experience
This past week, I attended an Eddie Soloway workshop on Whidbey Island. It was a good experience for me with an excellent and insightful instructor and sharing and talented fellow students. I highly recommend Eddie’s book One Thousand Moons with photographs that I can best describe as inspiring. (you know I make good recommendations) I [...]

Orca Pod in Puget Sound today
‘received a call from yurtmeister this evening from the ferry. He was commuting home to Bremerton from his j-o-b in Seattle. He said that this morning’s crossing was accompanied by a pod of orca including a baby. When the ferry passed them, they turned to follow it to the city at a close distance. Then [...]
Albermarle Sound North Carolina
when I stopped in North Carolina to pick up my trailer for my return home, Lisa and the kids took me to a boardwalk near town (Elizabeth City) and I saw this tree waiting for me (notice the “X” that has been a reoccurring theme on this trip). The waters and shoreline there were littered [...]
yep. I got caught…
Outer Banks barrier islands, North Carolina I was standing there waiting for some pelicans to fly surfing the air being forced from under the breaking waves and was holding the digital camera in my hand… I got a strange sensation on my feet and when I looked down, I saw that they were sinking into [...]

about three feet above… the beach on Bodie Island Outer Banks, North Carolina. class… can anyone tell me what made the footprints? (anyone paying attention?) Peace
Pea Island shipwreck
I found the remains of this shipwreck in the dunes on Pea Island in North Carolina’s outer banks… I couldn’t find a composition I liked that didn’t have footprints obscuring the sand patterns so chose to record with the digital camera instead of wasting film. Peace
Currituck Beach lighthouse
When I was at this location at the north end of the drivable portion of the outer banks islands of North Carolina, the light wasn’t lit till darkness… When I returned from attempting to photograph the color at the beach during sunset there was not enough light to make a photograph with the film camera.
